VW Karmann Ghia

If I could turn back time I would go back to the days in my life when I was a brand new teacher driving an older model 1970's Volkswagon Kharman Ghia as pictured in this Blog entry. It was exactly like this one except for three factors:
Robin's Egg Blue!!
A few spots of rust on the rocker panels
And a heater that did not work.
It was the best car I ever drove: cute, to the point, and Automatic Stick..only because I have never mastered a clutch...auto stick allows you to release your foot off the gas, change gears, and put the peddle back down. I was in heaven!
Times changed and as I began to collect payroll checks I was talked into getting something new, had a warranty, and wasn't ready to choke on the freeway. I still don't understand why I listen to others when it should be about ME! But if I had it to do all over again, I would take that car back in a flash. I would buy another right now if I could find one at a reasonable price, in reasonable shape.
But, back to the car show. I found that my favorite model-if I was frivilous and didn't care what I spent, had no concerns about putting two teens through college, and worked through my highly anticipated summers off would be the following:
1. Infiniti G35 Coupe-Pearl White @ $38,000
2. Audi TT-Jet Black @ about the same $$
3. BMW-Silver-Carrera @ $80,000
On the more reasonable list:
1. Acura RSX-Jet Black @ $22,500 Zoomie Award Winner- Best Performing Sport Coupe under $25,000
2. Scion's new tC Sedan-baby blue @ a mere $17,500 and Zoomer Car of the Year
3. Mitsubishi 2006 Eclipse-Silver @$25,000 with all of the trimmings (not out till this June)
So I guess I will just sit and wait to see if my professional contract is renewed for this next school year and drive my fun little Bug around until then...actually I would be more than happy to keep driving it for a few more years, but the teens say it's a total chick car and even though it is a Turbo that managed to give the student driver his first speeding ticket...it just doesn't make the grade!
I'll sit here for now and wait for my newest toys...new washer and dryer arriving today...yahooooo!!! (Big Deal)
Like I really care if I have a new fangled appliance...
I don't even do a whole heck of a lot of wash...but back again...it's the teenagers running this house and as long as they continue to wash their own clothes...I guess I will have to replace the broken tools to do so!
Big Light Bulb Idea here....
Drive the "Chick" car over to the laundromat and plug in some quarters!!!
And the train conductor says
"Take a break Driver 8, Driver 8 take a break
We can reach our destination, but we're still a ways away"
