Okay ...two reasons for this BLog...
One is only because it is a great song from a great scene in a great movie...
Harold and Muade...
I just Love the way the music is set to the scene of Bud Cort driving his car through the scenery of cliffs...waiting for him to fianlly commit his suicidal dream...after the elderly love of his life has passed on...
Truly Wonderful Scene
Secondly...
The news today of a young 18 year old girl gone missing while on vacation in Aruba deeply disturbed me.
She is in Trouble
It is a trouble that I once had experienced myself...
In Hawaii on a senior class trip
I too, made some bad decisions...
This vision posted of a guy in a doorway is unbelievably like the vision I keep inside my head...
causes me to be on guard even now...for reasons unknown....25 years later.
My roomate was had fallen ill after multiple nights of obnoxious partying and I was not about to waste a night cooped up in the hotel room. We had been there for several nights...the place seemed totally safe, guys were friendly...parties were everywhere...and I felt pretty at ease.
I ventured out on my own to get some food, have a few smokes and hopefully find a new party.
Trouble found me...in the vision of two gorgeous guys, maybe just 2 or 3 years older than I.
We met on the sidewalk near the beach and struck up a natural conversation that led us back to thier hotel for some drinks and such. One decided to go to the lobby to check out their bill...so he said...I was left in the room with...hmmm....what turned out to be "Scary Guy".
Somehow...to my own fault...I bumped my nose and it began to bleed. He totally freaked out...I went to the bathroom to take off my shirt...tube top underneath...and the scene turned ugly....too ugly to describe.
Crawling out into the hallway...rushing to the safety of the elevator...flagging down a cab...I missed tragedy by an instant.
I will NEVER forget the horror...
This image is the last I saw of him...my shirt still in the room....him standing in the doorway.
I fear for this girl and her last night in Aruba...and wish she could have seen it coming.
"Trouble
Oh trouble can't you see
You have made me a wreck
Now won't you leave me in my misery"
