Because of a friend
I have had a beautiful day
and all you need is one
...friend that is...

For 7 hours or so
I am
SWINGING

From some words of concern...
wisdom...
a song....
a smile...

A long time ago
on a MEmorial day
...I think I was about 19 or 20
Some friends and I went down to the lakefront
with the dogs and some picnic supplies

The sun was shining as brightly as today
and the lake was full of interesting people...
so interesting as a matter of fact
that we did not notice the true rays of glorious sun
SHINING
...and we stayed until night

Now,
the reason that I remember this so well
is not the day itself
but the day after...

I worked part time for a newspaper back then
and I had to work the next day...

The SUN
had burnt me to a CRISP
and it was painful just to get dressed

I went to work
in "NOTHING"
but a sundress
...nothing else

Today I wore sunscreen
cuz I could get arrested if I went to work like that
tomorrow!

(Mental Note: Find that cute little swimsuit...I save everything!)

Tomorrow night is the Hot Hot Heat concert...I think after all of my excitement...14 is gonna let me down and skip out on me.
What shall I do?
Hmmm...
gonna have some wine right now...
with the neighbors for a little birthday celebration
and check back later!
