Boys Don't Cry-The Cure

Girl
Originally uploaded by lapinfille.

I was reading this book one Saturday
this last winter
at my favorite Barnes and Noble location
that described the differences between
Boys
&
Girls...

I notice the differences in my classes at the
high school
...basically as it pertains to my life
Girls enjoy the attention of teachers
...mine run up to me in the hallway,
slide into my classroom
smile, hug, Communicate Freely...
Boys perceive attention from teachers as "uncool"
...mine slide past me in the hallway,
sneak into my classroom
frown, grunt, Barely utter a Hello

but just the other day...
a long haired "boy"
who just nods in my direction as he passes
sauntered up to me in class
and in front of Others
SPOKE...
and when his lips moved
he said...
"You are my favorite teacher"

Headline read:
TEACHER'S BACK IN THE GAME

Now he didn't break down and cry or anything...
But later that night...I felt like I should!

"Now I would do most anything
To get you back by my side
But I just
Keep on laughing
Hiding the tears in my eyes
cause boys don't cry
Boys don't cry
Boys don't cry"
-Cure

I understand that boys and girls behave differently. Why did the headline read..."Teachers Back In The Game"? Were you out of the game? Explain. I'm missing something dear MN. The quote by the Cure, I'm trying hard to put the puzzle pieces together. Help. Your reader...Miles

Miles...it seems as if I am always working MUCH harder at keeping the boys in line...the girls just fall into place. Maybe it's because I came from the all girls treatment center....and had a handle on all of the girl stuff for soooo long.

    So the lyrics...
"Now I would do most anything
To get you back by my side
    But I just
    Keep on laughing
Hiding the tears in my eyes
    cause boys don't cry"
Just point out how HARD I keep working at getting them ...reaching them...and hiding the gentle hurt when I don't quite touch base with them...like I do with the girls...
Boys Don't Cry...they rarely show emotion that I can understand at all...at least not YET...

    TEACHER'S BACK IN THE GAME....
remember...I almost dove off the fire escape the other day...LOL

    PS...Am I a puzzle???
    Do the pieces always fit???

    Thanks for reading...and commenting!
