Today...I had a SECRET smile...
Even I, myself did not know of it's intent

I joked and had fun with my kids at school
passed out chips and Laffy Taffys for answers
attempted during a game in my classes...

Pretended to strangle them...snake bite them...trip over their feet extending into the aisles

We had smiles all around

And when 8th hour came around...and I had my Prep...I secretly packed a box or two...
...
My "Magic Pink Ball"... my own version of a magic 8 ball that I used at my former all girls school...We would used it at times of extreme distress...
"Does he like me?"
"Will I have a fun weekend?"
"Am I gonna be okay?"...
I didn't use it nearly as much here at my newest placement...maybe just on myself...

I also packed my "NEXT REGISTER PLEASE" sign
that sits at my desk...the kids think that is funny and always ask me where I got in...in which I Lie and refuse to disclose that I stole it from somewhere so long ago that I do not remember.

I packed some of my favorite books.
I packed a private binder of pictures that I often open to make myself smile.

And I walked it all down the hall, through the tunnel, and to my car.
...not knowing whether to smile or not.

But I had a fun day...and there may not be many more like it.
Tonight...I will walk in the almost 90 degree heat...and drink wine...mass quantities...maybe even stop at T's house to jump in the pool!!!
